Born Aug. 12, 1915, in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late Thaddeus and Michalina (Rakowski) Kalinowski. She was formerly employed by the Duplan Silk Mill in Kingston and the Blue Ribbon/Interstate Bakery in Kingston. She was a member of St. Mary's Annunciation Church in Kingston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; and sister, Irene B. Kalinowski. Surviving are her daughter, Michelle Frederick, with whom sheresided; son, PauldJr., Hanover Township; four granddaughters, one grandson; one step-grand- daughter; sisters, Kathryn Den- nis, Kingston; Helen Cheney, To- ledo, OH; brother, Leo, Kingston; several nieces and nephews. He previously resided in New York City, Long Island, NY and FL, and moved to the Luzerne County area several years ago. He was a graduate of the Brook- lyn School system and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He later graduated from the New York City Police Academy and had been an undercover narcotics of- ficer in New York City for several years. : : He was a driver with North American Van Lines and also em- ployed by the Century Secutiry Co. in Wilkes-Barrre. He retired because of ill health. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, the former Dorothy Green; son, Thomas Perrego, Dallas; brother, Thomas Minori, GA and sister Evie Dempsey, Port St. Lucie, FL. Born in Edwardsville, he was the son of the late Anthony and Margaret Shumbris Shamis. He was a graduate of Edwardsville High School. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anna Evanauskas; daughter, Annette Andrejko; brothers, Anthony and George; sister, Margaret Chesluk.
