The pitching of April Naugle carried the team the rest of the way as she finished the game going all seven innings, strik- ing out five and walking two while giving up just the one run, which was unearned. Gracjan Krasewski added a double and an RBI. Mountaintop 11, Back Mountain American 10 The American offense could not match that of Mountaintop as American suffered its first loss. Pitcher Adam King had five strikeouts but gave up seven hits and seven earned runs. Nick Oschman, Brian Goeringer, and Mario Olivari each had two singles for American. Goeringer and Bob Lenahan each scored twice. Mountaintop 10, Back Mountain National 5 Mountaintop beat a Back Mountain team for the second time in two days as it advanced into tonight's final. Gracjan Krasweski had two hits and two runs batted in to highlight National's offense. Ron Shiner and Nate Carr had the other hits for Back Mountain Na- tional. Eric Domzalski pitched two innings and took the loss. Plains 11, Back Mountain American 8 American was eliminated as Plains’ offense was too much to overcome. A five-run third inning gave American a 9-8 led , but a Plains home run in the bottom of the third pushed Plains ahead for good. Mario Olivari tripled and singled and knocked in two runs to lead American's offense. Nick Oschman and Joe Bailey each scored twice. Matt Shumbris took the loss. Plains faced Back Mountain National Tuesday night to decide first and third place. Mountaintop was undefeated, but could field only five players this week, and was awarded second place. 8-9 National wins two tournaments outscored their opponents 137- 62. Rage wins Keystone gold Luzerne County Rage defeated CVYBA, from the Capital Region, 32-23 in the finals of the Keystone Games tournament. The Rage jumped out to a 16-7 half time lead in a defensive first half and traded baskets in the second half to win the championship. Lead- ing scorers for the Rage were Meredith LaBuda, 9 points, Jackie Hardwick, 6 points, Meredith Lacey, 5 points, Kim Dodson, Ashley Grimm, 4 points apiece, Shannon Thomas, 3 points and Rosalyn Wentko, 1 point. In semi-final action the Rage won 70-49 over the #2 seed from pool #2.
