Volunteers' efforts benefit Food Pantry The Letter Carrier's Food Drive held on May 8 was a great success once again. Back Mountain residents were very generous in their donations of food, postal employees tireless in transportation donations to a drop off location on a rainy day and church volunteers energetic in sorting and re- packing the many items. In total 165 boxes of food were carried to the Back Mountain Food Pantry. Our thanks is extended to the community, the letter carriers and volunteers for their generosity. Dreamhouses Club hosting doll house show at PSU The Dreamhouses in Miniature Club was started in February 1992 as a means to share our hobby. We enjoyed building miniature buildings and their furnishings usually one inch to one foot scale or smaller. We also wanted to learn new crafts and keep every- thing as economical as possible since miniature doll houses can be very expensive. As word got around about our club, we had many calls from enthusiastic doll house people. After a little while our club grew and we became more organized. It was decided by the members to hold a miniature doll house show every other year. Proceeds would go to a worthy cause. Some of the shows have ben- efited the following groups: Bk. Mt. Libary; Children’s Museum, Forty Fort; Lions. Club. of Nanticoke; Special Olympics, Penn State Lehman; Ronald McDonald House-Waverly; Wyo- ming Valley Cancer Society; Habi- tat for Humanity; Make A Wish Foundation; Meadows Nursing Center; Johns Hopkins Allied Cen- ter. This year’s show will be held at Penn State-Wilkes-Barre Campus, Lehman, May 29-30 from 11 a.m.- This miniature house constructed by Jerry Sutton will be amont those on display. 6 p.m. Proceeds, benefit the Teddy Bear Patrol. Admission is $2.50 for adults, S1 for children 6-12: under 6 free. The club meets the last Tues- day of every month at the . Emmanuel Assembly of God Church at Harveys Lake.
