Legacy 2 - Buckingham 0 Julia Covert scored two second half goals to lead the Back Moun- tain Legacy U-11 Girls to a 2-0 victory over the Buckingham Bull- dogs. The away victory for the Legacy keeps alive their chances of advancing to the next round. Covert’s goals were sandwiched around a Buckingham missed penalty kick. The Legacy domi- nated play in the second half and goalkeepers Lauren Roderick and Celia Pambianco shared the shut- out. The Legacy now have a win and a loss and need a victory over the Council Rock Mutiny next Saturday to have any hope of win- ning their group. Arsenal 5 - Buckingham 0 The Back Mountain Arsenal U- 13 Boys upped their record to 2- 0 by coming alive in the second half and spanking Buckingham 5-0 at Neuman Field. Bob Sherwood caps sparkling mat career Wyoming Seminary senior Bob Sherwood recently completed his Seminary wrestling career on a high note, as he captured the 189 pound championship in the Penn- sylvania Independent School Wrestling Tournament and placed fifth in the country in the National Prep School Wrestling Tourna- ment. Sherwood finished the season with a record of 25-4 in dual meet competition and a career record of 92-34. The captain of Sem’s varsity squad in his junior and senior years, Sherwood also cap- tured the state title last year as a junior. Named a Levi Sprague Fellow in recognition of his campus lead- ership, Sherwood was captain of Sem’s varsity football team, serves on the Dorm Council, and is a resident advisor. He serves as vice president of Wyoming Semi- nary Government, and is an ac- tive community service volunteer. The son of Renee Sherwood of Dallas and Dr. Arthur Sherwood of Tunkhanamnock, Bob will con- tinue his academic and athletic career at Williams College. The 6'5, 275 1b. senior defen- sive tackle was a three year letterwinner for Coach Al Bagnoli’s Penn Quakers. The highlight of Townsend's career came this past season as Penn won the 1998 Ivy League Championship. Dave will graduate in May with a degree in Economics from the Wharton School of Business. He has accepted a position as a trad- ing assistant with Wolverine Trad- ing LP, a private investment firm in Chicago.
