Miller has been employed at LCCC since 1977. She previ- ously served as director of non- traditional learn- ing services at the College. In her new role, she will be respon- sible for assisting with the College's development and fundraising activities. Miller is a founding board mem- ber of the PA Distance Education Consortium and a board member of the tri-state Consortium of Dis- tance Education (CODE). She isa member of the advisory board of the Diversity Institute at College Misericordia and the Board of Jewish Family Services. She previously served as presi- dent of the Ethics Institute of NEPA, president of the Board of Trustees of Temple B'nai B'rith and president of the Kiwanis Club of Wilkes-Barre. Miller received the Leadership Wilkes-Barre Alumni Distinguishd Leadership Award in 1997 and the Greater Wilkes- Barre chamber of Commerce Athena Award in 1998. She also received the pathfinder Award from the Wyoming Valley Women's network in 1992; was selected as the recipient of the Outstanding Administrator Award at LCCC for 1994-95; and received a citation of distinction from The Wyoming ValleyInterfaith Council in 1996. AISE seeks host families for students The American Intercultural Student Exchange, a non-profit educa- tional foundation, is seeking local host families for high school foreign exchange students for the upcoming school year. AISE'’s students come from over 40 countries world wide with new countries being added every year. AISE places exchange students with loving host families throughout the United States. The students attend local high schools during their six to 10 month cultural exchange experience. American host families provide these young ambassadors with a place to sleep, meals and a family atmosphere in which to live. 'Cinderella’ on stage at Misericordia College Misericordia Theater Ensemble will present the play “Cinderella” by William Glennon, directed by Regina Rockensies. DHS Soccer Club craft show April 18 The Dallas High School Soccer Club is sponsoring the annual Spring Craft Show on Sunday, April 18 at the Dallas Senior High School from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 100 vendors from Pennsylvania and New Jersey will be represented, selling various crafts including semi- precious gemstone jewelry, needlework, candles, ceramics, potpourri, quilts, stenciled lamp shades, woodcrafts, wreaths, handmade dolls and homemade candy. Soccer Club members will be selling lunch and baked goods throughout the day. There is no admission charge. During the course at the U.S. Army Quarter Master School, Fort Lee, VA, students receive instruction on the installation, operation, main- tenance and repair of fuel handling units and accessory equipment.
