BLOODMOBILE FEB. 16, DALLAS UNITED METH- ODIST CHURCH, Parsonage St., Dallas, 12:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. Contra Dance for Valentine's Day The Chicory House and the Folklore Society will again showcase local talent at New England Contra Dance Saturday, Feb. 13 at 8 p.m. The dance is held at the St. Therese’s Church, Pioneer Ave. at Davis St. in Shavertown. Music is to be provided by the Warrington family, with Ridge Kennedy calling. No partner or previous experience is necessary. The five-member Warrington family band features a wonderful combination of American, Celtic and English Country dance tunes. Youngsters lan and Lucy will be featured on fiddle, while their brother Ben will add keyboard accompaniment. Mother, Jean, adds rhythm acoustic guitar, and dad, Peter, will provide bass rhythm. They have been featured musicians at previous contra dances and the junior members of the band performed at the Swetland Homestead and at classical music recitals in the Wyoming Valley. The Chicory house is an all-volunteer, non-profit coffeehouse, sponsoring folk music and dance in the Wyoming Valley. Admission to the dance is $6 for adults and $15 for families. Dancers are asked to wear soft-soled shoes and to bring a snack to share at intermission.
