Chatham Tech's Jeff Dickson caught fire in the second JEDA4E] quarter pump- ing in 16 points to keep the game close with Burger King going in at halftime leading 25-15. It was much the same in the fourth quarter, with Burger King scoring at will and finishing with a 65-31 victory margin. After falling behind 38-17 after three quarters, the Mounts managed to match Hazleton in the final stanza with 11 points. POST PHOTOS/RON BARTIZEK Dallas tops Tunkhannock to win Sth grade tournament Eric Domzalski and Dayid Harding scored 14 points each to lead Dallas over Tunkhannock 47- 37 in the championship game of the Fifth Grade Division. Andy Skrynski led Tunkhannock with 19 points while Brendan Mulhern added12 points. Corey Rau led the defense for the Orange. Tunkhannock was coached by Pat Mulhern. Dallas was coached by Lew Thomas, Joe Noone and Bob Lenahan. In other fifth grade action, Dal- las topped St. Nick's 33-16 as Bobby Lenahan scored 14 points. Adam King led the defense. Dal- las defeated Tunkhannock earlier in the tournament 50-31 as Ben Thomas and Ronnie Shiner scored six points each. For Tunkhannock, Spencer Lunger scored 16 points and Will Sheehan five points while the de- fense was led by Chris Hall, Steve Huffsmith, Ben Pozniak, and Matt Montross. Also playing well for Dallas in the tournament were Kyle Mahle, 20 points and Mike Race 16 points. Also playing in the Fifth Grade Division were St. Nick’s/St. Mary's and CSI Indus- tries. Brendan Delaney scored 16 points, Adam Singer five, Mike Clemente two, Dylan Seeley three and Patrick Foley six points. The team was coached by Juan DeRojas. Gate of Heaven crushes Dallas for 6th grade title Matt Wilson and Tim Crossin scored 12 points each tolead Gate of Heaven over Dallas 48-29 in the championship game in the Sixth Grade Division. Ken Regan added 11 and Sean Leary six points. John Yanik scored four points for Dallas, Michael Lloyd three and Andrew Gramps two points. Ryan Marascio had one point and played fine defense. Gate of Heaven was coached by Ed Ostrowsky, Joe Leary and Juan DeRojas. Dallas was coached by George Gracely and Don Murray. In other sixth grade action, Dallas topped Conway's Sports 46-38 as Matt Daube scored 16 points and Matt Kelly 13 points. Jimmy Schwertman added eight points and Eric Samanas four. For Conway's Jamie Montvitle scored 16 points and Brett Sorkirka 10. Keith Kolesa added two points and led the defense. In quarterfinal round action; Dallas topped Northwest 48-9 as Ryan Paul Parulski two. Parulski also led the team in rebounds. Conway's topped Lehman- Jackson 40-25 in an opening round game. Matt Shiskowski and Chad Casterline scored 10 points each for Lehman-Jackson. Eric Kurello, Ryan Bloom and Alan Sheridan played fine defense for Lehman. In another opening round game, Brian Ostrowsky scored eight points to lead Gate of Heaven over Tunkhannock Black 52-33. Jonathan Stephens and Zach Evans added four points each for the winners. Colin Hopkins led Tunkhannock with 13 points. In a semifinal game, Jared Northstein scored four points while John Foster and Michael DeRojas led the defense as Gate of Heaven topped Dallas fifth grade 59-34. Basic Boating Course Murray scored six points and John at Shickshinny A PA Fish & Boat Commission Basic Boating course will be held at the PP&L Susquehanna En- ergy Info. Center (Riverlands), Rt. 11 south of Shickshinny, Jan. 16, 1999, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Registration is required for the course. Seating is limited. Inter- ested parties should call 542-2306 for a reservation. Lunch will not be provided. A lunch break will be given around noon time and those attending should bring a box lunch and. refreshments. Successful completion of this course will provide a boating safety education certificate which will be required for the operation of a motorboat over 10 horsepower. The course is also open to experi- enced boaters to acquaint them with many aspects of boating which they may not be aware of as well as changes in current regula- tions. It is recommended that parents take the course along with their children. Dr. Ann DiPietro 8 - Pace Physical Therapy 6 The second week of games started with an exciting victory for Dr. DiPietro. With the help of Kenslic ERENCES Kerestes, Megan Youells, and the rest of her teammates, Kathleen Paley was able to score all eight points for her team. Stephanie Pace, Amanda Kamarunas and Chelsea McHale each contributed two points for Pace Therapy. DYB Valley Radiology 8 - Eastern Insurance Group 3 Lindsey McCabe and Amanda Saxon each hit for four points to lead Valley Radiology to victory. Stephanie Konecke and Nicole Madden played excellent defense. Scoring for Eastern Insurance was Rachel Schaub with two points and Kasey Corbett added one with a free throw. Melissa Gorski and Paige Selenski led the defense. Dr. Jack Ellis 10 - Grotto Pizza 4 Courtney Taylor scored six while Samantha Marquart hit for four to lead Dr. Jack Ellis to vic- tory. Michelle Gibbons, Jillian O'Connell and Chelsea Martin played great defensively. Devin Lacey scored Grotto Pizza's four points. Laura Kerpovich and Rayanda Calkins led the defense. Grotto Pizza 14 - PNC Bank 4 Kaley Roberts led the offense with six points for Grotto Pizza. Kiley Williams and Susan Krogulski each added four points for their team. Lauren Yurko and Lauren Zimniski were defensively strong. With the help of Lindsey Davenport and Alyssa Miller, Erin Delaney scored four points for PNC Bank. Kylee Besecker and Jessie Fisk had strong defensive games.
