The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, December 9, 1998 5 Stocker named volunteer of the year At the gutumn meeting of the Luzerne/Wyoming Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association (PASR), Alice Hudak, Chair of the Dallas High School senior class trip will be first in 17 years The Dallas School Board gave the go-ahead to the first senior class trip since 1982. The class has been working towards the trip for three years, talking with administrators and holding fundraisers. Approximately 120 seniors are eligible for the four- day trip to Disney World in Or- lando, Florida. In other business, the board presented John George with a certificate of appreciation for his 15 years of service on the board. “I appreciate this and all the time I ve served on the board,” said George. The board also acknowledged the 57th anniversary of Pearl Har- bor Day. Dr. Michael Speziale, assistant superintendent, informed the board that the district was awarded a grant through the Tech- nology Literacy Challenge Fund for its Lightspan network. The network is currently in use at Dallas Elementary and will be hooked up in the new Gerald J. Wycallis Elementary when it is completed. Lightspan provides a website for the school, which pro- vides reading and math activities. Anyone affiliated with Dallas El- ementary will receive a password to use the site.
