LJ » ® e | a " : The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, November 18, 1998 11 Order deadline is Nov. 20 | Sue Hand's Thanksgiving Student Art Show Nov. 23-28 Art students of Sue Hand's Imagery, Dallas, will exhibit their drawings and paintings at the studio’s 23rd Annual Thanksgiv- ing Student Art Show and Sale, Monday through Saturday of Thanksgiving week. Also, throughout that week, Sue Hand will present watercolor and oil demonstrations creating artworks for her upcoming Millennium Col- lection exhibit. Exhibiting students range in age from kindergarten children through senior citizens. They work in a variety of media including watercolor, ink, graphite, oil, wax tempera, acrylic, pastel and mixed media. Many of the students are local teenagers who are college- bound for art careers. 8 The teens and adults study with Sue Hand and Janice O’Brien. The younger students study with Karen Shelley and Lora Womer. All four instructors will display their artwork during the exhibit. The public is invited to attend the art show from Nov. 23-28 at Sue Hand's Imagery, 35 Main Street, Dallas. Hours are: Mon- day and Wednesday, 9-6; Tues- day, 9-9; and Friday and Satur- day, 9-4; closed Thanksgiving Day. ENCON beats campaign goal for United Way - The ENCON Corporation recently wrapped up its 1998 campaign drive for the United Way of Wyoming Valley and the Wyoming County United Fund by surpassing its goal of $12,000 for employee contributions. “We have 230 employees, and 68% of them donated to this worthy cause,” stated ENCON General Manager, John Lloyd. “They are all to be commended for their generosity.” Over the past three years, ENCON has doubled its employee contributions from $6,086 in 1995 to $12,249 in 1998. To increase awareness and employee involvement, ENCON management offered several prizes such as color TV's, vacation days, gift certificates and even a reserved parking spot which were given away in the campaign.
