Healy, Ph.D. is sub-titled, ‘How comput- ers affect our children’s minds— for better and worse.” The dedica- tion reads ‘To my mother, who understood nothing about com- | puters but a lot about living suc- cessfully as a human being...and to my grandchildren who, I hope, will understand both.” Technol- ogy shapes the growing mind. The younger the mind, the more mal- leable itis. The younger the tech- nology, the more unproven it is. Today's children are the subjects of a vast and optimistic experi- ment; well financed and enthusi- astically supported by major cor- porations, the public at large, nd government officials around the world. If it is successful, our youngsters minds and lives will be enriched. However, there is no proof or convincing evidence that it will work. : ; The Richmond *87,900 as shown Excluding lot and site cost WHERE CAN | GET THE MOST HOUSE FOR MY MONEY? © 1998 Fine Line Home, Inc. | ¢ homes; | C, AIT CREE West Hazleton, PA (717) 455-3324 (Yi [e]n] = B82 [017] =H 0) 4 S\N Weekdays 10-8; SF: (0 [go FAR [0 BY: v | Second Floor Laundry : je v | 10 Year Warranty High-tech Wiring v4 Bedrooms. 2 1/2 Baths v | Kohler Plumbing E _+ | GE Appliances LOCTOY A : ; . — v|Great Reputation in PA & NY | some DIMNATT HARRISBURG LEWISBURG HAZLETON KUTZTOWN SAYRE - STATE COLLEGE By PG Energy 2 ke kk sk ke kkk kk ok ke ok ek kok kk sk sk ke sk kok ke sk kk ok kkk ok kok kek kk kek sk ke sk kkk kek kk sk ke sk ok sk ke sk ke sk ok sk sk ok sk ok kk ok ke sk ke sk kk sk ke sk ke sk sk ke ke sk kk kok ski sk kok kok kok kok The winners Dallas Kiwanis Halloween costume contest winners The first place winners are pictured POST PHOTOS/JIM PHILLIPS Funniest 1st: Douglas Harding; 2nd: Matthew Jeschke; 3rd: Eric Fritzges Best Group 1st: Ryan Phillips, Shauna Phillips, Chad Phillips 2nd: Matthew Blom, Amanda Blom: 3rd: Ashley White, Alyssa Whittle 2 0 at Lf En a Se 88 8 88 es sess seseesssssssssssssesy Remember Your Vote is Important!
