Dallas scored 10 points in the second quarter, first on a 32-yard field goal by Matt Douglas, followed by a 53-yard pass play from Matt Barnard to Chris Tucker. Hanover came back for a touchdown on the first drive of the second half, but it was too little, too late. Barnard ran in from a yard out in the third quar- ter after Matt Acri ran a kickoff back 89 yards. Dallas held the Hawkeyes to 65 yards on the ground, and recovered two Hanover fumbles. Matt Jackson was the leading rusher, going 76 yards on 30 carries. Barnard was 2-for-7 in the air, for 66 yards and the one touchdown. Lehman 28, Hoban 7 It was close until the fourth quarter, but the Black Knights scored two touchdowns in the fi- nal period to come home winners. Matt Morris scored first on a 5- yard pass from D.J. Kapson, then took an 8-yarder in in the second quarter. With the score 13-7 in the fourth quarter, Travis McRoy broke free for a 53-yard scoring run, and Floyd McRoy hauled in a Kapson pass for a 7-yard scor- | ing play. Rich Patton each gained 54 yards on the ground, while Kapson was 10-for-18 for 190 yards with no interceptions. Leh- man punted only once, for 43 yards and was penalized only twice for 20 yards. : GOLF District qualifiers Gary Sagan led local competi- tors with a 75, finishing tied for third place in the Pre-District 2 tournament held at Mountain Laurel Golf Club. Kevin Piekara had a 45, Dan Laurenzi shot 47 and Matt Hoover scored 48. SOCCER Lehman 2, Crestwood 0 Lake-Lehman scored twice in the final minutes to edge out Crestwood at home Sept. 15. More photos on page 10. - JUNIOR HONOR -.§ i Raiders A wins third game of season, 13-6 The Raiders A Football Team, behind a total team effort on both sides of the ball, won a hard fought 13-6 victory over a tough Larksville squad Sunday. The win improved the A-Team'’s season record to 3- I. Stephen Salavantis took the second play from scrimmage off tackle and rambled 60 yards for a touchdown. Salavantis split the uprights on the point after kick, giving the Raiders the early lead. Then, for the second week in a row, The Raiders offense success- ‘fully moved the ball but came up short in the red zone. The Raiders defense yielded very few yards during the first half and the score remained. 7-0 at the intermission. The Raiders mounted a nice drive in the third quarter and Salavantis punched it in the end zone from the one yard line to give the Raid- ers a 13-0 lead. The 2-point at- tempt was no good. : The Greenwaves rebounded with a score of their own, cutting the lead to 13-6 with about four minutes remaining in the game. The Raiders defense stopped the last offensive effort of Larksville to preserve the win. The Raiders next opponent is Lake-Lehman 4- 0. The game will take place at the Dallas High School field Sunday at 3 p.m. Junior golf league starts Sept. 28 Four Seasons Golf Club, Exeter, will start its fall Junior golf league Monday, Sept. 28 and continuing Mondays. The league is for male and female golfers between the ages of 9 and 16. Tee times will be between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. A fee of $8 will include a pull cart and handicapping. The league is in- tended for experienced golfers. To register, call 655-8869. | Tee time Dallas hosted a tri-match Thursday, with Bishop Hoban and Wyoming Seminary visiting at Irem Temple Country Club.
