The team has initiated an Adopt-A-Homeroom program in which members of the team meet and read with elementary students daily. “Every day five of us go to either Westmoreland Elementary or Dallas Elementary during our flex period,” said Chris Tucker, senior. “We will read to the kids. It's something to give back to the community.” On Monday, Tucker, Ben Russoniello, Kyle Wicht and Bill Duda came to Westmoreland Elementary and ate lunch with first graders. Three of the football players attended Westmoreland. “Do you remember these chairs?,” Russoniello asked Tucker as he plopped down on a cushioned chair in the main office. The team members alternate each day and are only allowed to take one car to each school. “The principal (Frank Galicki) doesn’ t want a bunch of cars running around,” explained Tucker. : Pictured is Tucker with, from left, Matt Shaver, Adam Viercinski; Ashleigh Napierkowski and Benjamin Lewis.
