He was a graduate of Milton High School and Penn State Uni- versity where he lettered in var- sity football and participated in intramural boxing. Following college, he played professional football for three years with the Cleveland Rams, now the St. Louis Rams, in the NFL. In 1942, he was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. Following the war, he served in the Naval Reserve, retiring as a lieutenant commander. Before retiring, he was super- visor in financial planning for the Beneficial Corp., Peapack, NJ. He was a member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church, Dal- las; George M. Dallas Lodge 531 F&AM; the Caldwell Consistory, Bloomsburg; the Irem Temple, Wilkes-Barre and its Legion of Honor. Surviving are his wife, the former Eleanor Marty; sons, Wil- liam G.
