He was a life member of the Pennsylvania Amateur Trap Shooting Associaton, a former Pennsylvania Amateur Trap ‘Shooting champion and was | ranked by the National Trap Shooting Association. He was a member of the N.R.A. and the Dallas United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, the ~ former Elizabeth Harchar; son, Allan T., Jr., Dallas Township; two grandchildren. Born on June 2, 1921 in Beau- mont, he was the son of the late Harry and Kate Preston Newberry. He resided in Noxen for the past 55 years. He graduated from Beaumont High School, Class of 1939. He was employed by the Bendix Corp., South Montrose, and the former Armour Leather Co., Noxen. He was a guard at the State Correctional Institution at Dallas, and was a security guard at Procter and Gamble Paper Prod- ucts, Mehoopany for 25 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the Tunkhannock Senior Citizens Club and attended the Noxen United Methodist Church. He and his wife, the former Ruth Crispell, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on April 27. He was preceded in death by brothers, Harry and Chet.
