A woman who appreciates the fine arts, Virginia co-founded Col- lege Misericordia’s Theatre on the Green with Mr. Walter Kelly. This excellent summer program is now in its 11th season. Virginia made another commit- ment to College Misericordia ear- lier this year. Merrick Hall will undergo major renovations and improvements and be re-named the Joseph B. and Virginia H. Center Hill Rd. Hundreds of browsers and buyers pored through dozens of booths, searching for hidden treasures, or just whimsical crafts. The flea market is sponsored by the Meadows Auxiliary, with help from the Dallas Kiwanis Club, the Harveys Lake Women's Club Creek. All proceeds are donated to residents and have been used to buy extra televisions and other equipment, build a gazebo, sponsor birthday parties and other uses. This year's event raised $6,300. In photos, clockwise from left: Sharon Shaver, left, Joan Williams and Joan Crispin compared their finds; Kevin Hine displayed a big, soft Coca- Cola pillow, with sister Megan grandson Noah Hislop and a couple of plants; Karla Nave wasn't interested in the tents, but she found some pretty flowers at the edge of the pond.
