She was employed by the Old River Road Bakery, Wilkes-Barre, for 30 years, retiring in 1983¢ She was most recently a mem- - ber of the Fellowship Baptist Church, Shavertown. She was formerly a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Ply- mouth, where she taught Sunday School for 32 years and also taught junior church. She was also a release time teacher for 25 years with the Child Evangelism Fel- lowship and was a member of the executive board. She was preceded in death by her son, Wayne T. She and her husband, Claude T. celebrated 51 years of marriage - last November. Surviving in addition to her husband, is her son, Claude III, Shavertown; daughter, Jeanne E. Hunter, Kingston; son, Thomas S. Luzerne; three grandchildren; sister, Patricia Shaw, Depew, NY; brothers, Anthony, Woodbury Heights, NJ; John, Jamison; nieces and nephews. He was a native of Plymouth and the son of the late Nathan Hale and Helen Goldstein Meyer. He graduated from Plymouth High School and attended ‘Lafayette University. He gradu- ated from Temple University Den- tal School in 1963. He joined the U.S. Air Force as a dentist and retired 23 years later with the rank of colonel. During that time, he served in Japan, Turkey and Hawaii, as well as on numerous bases in the continental United States. After retiring, he returned to fhe Wyoming Valley and took charge of the office formerly held by his brother, Dr. David M. Meyer, in Kingston. He occupied several posts in the Kingston Rotary, the last one as president. He was a member of the Ma- sonic organizations and was ac- tive in various civic and religious groups.
