Giants 4 - Yankees 3 Ryan Ishley pitched a fine game, going six innings, striking out 12 batters to record the win. Dodgers 12, Harvey’s Lake 8 The Dodgers improved to 9-0 behind the pitching and hitting of Stephanie Latosick. Latosick smashed a home run while Lauren Collini tripled and Nicole Allan doubled for the winners. Yankees 9 Red Sox 7 The Yankees remained unde- feated with an exciting 9-7 win over the Red Sox. Winning pitcher for the Yankees was Abi Fried (2- 0), while Shannon Thomas took - the loss. The lead changed hands five times during the game with the Yankees exploding for five runs in the fifth inning to secure the win. Leading the offense for the Yan- kees were Jodie Dickson, Rebecca Clay, and Jamie Flack, each with two hits, and Kelly Corbett, Abi Fried, and Meghan Reino, all with key hits. Aggressive base running by Heather Fenaughty and Rebecca Clay added to the of- fense. The Red Sox offense was lead by Shannon Thomas, Jennifer Konopki and Sarah Swepston. A’s 20, White Sox 4 Kelly Dougherty and Laura Noreika led the A’s attack with Noreika scoring 5 runs. Ashley Simchick was the winning pitcher. For the White Sox, Maggie Guntli, Katie Rhodes, and Megan Williamson all had 2 hits with Guntli getting a triple. JUNIOR LEAGUE SOFTBALL Phillies 8 - Dodgers 2 Colleen Mahon and Amanda Stolarick powered the Phillies of- fense with two hits each. Stolarick had a triple while Christie Hiller had a double. April Naugle struck out 11 in registering the win. For the Dodgers, Megan Peeler struck out nine and picked up two hits. Phillies 16 - Bob Horlacher 5 The Phillies were led by several players with multiple-hit games. Samantha Oschman smacked four hits, including a double. Lauren Patton had two doubles included among her three hits, while Erin Madigan had a double as one of her safeties. Cassie Mishanski ripped two doubles of her own. Madigan was the win- ning pitcher, striking out 11. Tiffany Hettes had two hits, including a double for Bob Horlacher. Phillies 12 - Indians 5 The Phillies were led to victory by April Naugle who went four for four with a triple at the plate and struck out seven Indians while on the mound. Christie Hiller and Amanda Stolarick each tripled among their three hits for the Phillies while Lauren Patton smashed three hits, including a double and Samantha Oschman picked up two hits. Stephanie Simonitus went three for three to lead the Indians. JUNIOR LEAGUE BASEBALL Back Mountain Braves 18, Harvey’s Lake Barons 9 Mike Fehlinger had a double among his 3 hits to lead the Braves. Tyler Droppers, Matt Katyl, and Nick Mathewson all had 2 hits for Back Mountain. David Lohin was the winning pitcher. Jay Turner and M. Ide each had 2 hits for Harvey's Lake, with Turner getting a triple. Back Mountain Pirates 3, Back Mountain Rockies 2 Brian Cornia and Ryan Gryskevicz combined to hold the Rockies to 4 hits. Gryskevicz also had 2 hits. Steve Salavantis made 2 outstanding plays in center field for the Pirates. Adam Tkaczyk had a single and two stolen bases. Paul McCue had a triple for the Rockies. The game was tied I- to I until the top of the seventh inning when the Pirates combined for a total of nine hits, scoring four more runs and ending any chance of a WY/ WW /EX comeback. The final score was 5-1. Cornia and Tkaczyk struck out nine batters, Cornia six, and Tkaczyk three. Steve Salavantis, Tkaczyk and J. J. Sidorek had two singles and one rbi each. Brian Cornia and John Simonitis each pitched in a single and an rbi, and Ryan Gryskevicz stroked a double.
