Council president William Rob- erts told Tkatch, “Storm water management is a major concern of the council. We will look into it. It won’t be sloughed off. There are other projects on the table, but we will look into it.” When Tkatch asked if there was anything residents could do to help council, Roberts said, “If you see anything, call and the road crew can look at it and trace it to its source.” Tkatch thanked council for their ongoing service to residents. “We truly appreciate as residents the service the bor- ough gives us,” she said. Residents of Joseph Street were not the only ones with road troubles. Doug Martin, who is about to purchase a house on Chelsea Drive, addressed council regarding the name of the street. Martin explained that there are discrepancies between maps and the post office concerning the street, which is sometimes called Highland Boulevard. “We discussed the situation at the work session Monday evening,” said Theodore Krohn, solicitor for the borough. “The name doesn’t make any differ- ence to council. It was not dedi- cated to the borough or taken over ~ by the borough so we have noth- ing to do with maintaining it.” Jim Wisnewski, who developed the property, attended the meet- ing with Martin. WisnewsKi told council that he believed thatHighland Boulevard was ac- cepted by council in the 1960's. Chelsea Drive is a continuation of Highland Boulevard. Wisnewski asked Krohn how much of the road was actually accepted.: "We're going to have to get.to- gether with Mr. Krohn and find out if it was dedicated and if not, find out how to dedicate it,” Rob- erts explained to both Martin and Wisnewski. “If you want the road accepted, you need to go through the proper procedure. The name of the street has to be taken up with the post office.” Also during the meeting: * Council voted to award a bid for storm water drainage work on Foster Street to American Asphalt. e Council made a motion to authorize borough manager Milton Lutsey to begin collecting information on a new police cruiser. The new cruiser will re- place a worn-out cruiser. °° e Council member Jay Pope said the county 911 system will begin dispatching on June.17. The Back Mountain Communica- tion Center will stay open for.30 days after the 911 dispatch sys- tem begins working in case of any glitches in the system. e The borough intends to. ork into a voice mail system for non- emergency borough police calls.
