6. The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, April 15, 1998 | Che Te Nominations sought for environmental award .‘The Pennsylvania Environmen- tal Council's Northeast Regional Office, on behalf of the NE PA Partners, is pleased to announce that plans are underway for the Eighth Annual Environmental Partnership Awards and Dinner to ‘be held in October of 1998. From its humble beginnings, the Environmental Partnership Awards and Dinner has become an“outstanding annual event to honor the environmental move- ment in NE PA. The Awards Din- ner has had many outstanding keynote speakers in the past, in- cluding John Oliver, Secretary of the PA Department of Conserva- tion and Natural Resources and John Sawhill, President of The Nature Conservancy. We hope to continue on this path of excel- lence as the years progress and the public support increases. In presenting these awards, the NE PA Partners join together to recognize outstanding accom- plishments and teamwork in pro- tecting and conserving our envi- ronment. One criteria for award selection is a demonstrated qual- ity of involving and working suc- cessfully in partnership with oth- ers. This theme of partnershipping is most pronounced in the Awards Dinner itself. The dinner pre- sents a common gathering place where private citizens, organiza- tions, government officials and businesses with an interest in environmental issues come to- gether in partnership to honor individuals and/or organizations for excellence in environmental protection. or conservation in Northeastern Pennsylvania. A Call for Nominations for the Environmental Partnership Awards will be publicized by mid- April. Should you have any ques- tions about the Award or the Din- ner, please contact the Pennsyl- vania Environmental Council at 717-408-4997. We look forward to seeing you at the Awards Din- ner.
