It was then that a chorus of waiters first sang one of the most famous songs in show business history: Hello Dolly! For over five years and 4,000 perfor- mances, the Jerry Herman/ Michael Steward musical of the same name became one of the most popular Broadway shows of all time. The Music Box Players first presented Hello Dolly! in August 1983, playing to over 2,400 pa- trons in a four week run. Because it is one of the most popular shows produced at The Music Box, The Players repeated Hello Dolly! in 1982; 1989 and 1993, and the latest run will wind up March 5-7.
