Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son ‘of Mary Aline Bradford Casterlin of Hurst, TX and the late Robert B. Casterlin. ~~ He was a graduate of Dallas High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1966 to 1970. : He was employed for the past 20 years by the U.S. Postal Ser- vice. Born in Edwardsville, she was daughter of the late John and Margaret Edwards Jenkins. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre. She was a member of the Trucksville United Methodist Church, its quilting club and Women’s Society. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G.; a son, Robert W.; a granddaughter, Lindy Sturdevant; and three sisters and two brothers. He served with the U.S. Army ~ as a special services entertainer. He was a past member of Ma- sonic Lodge 61, Caldwell Consistory and the Irem Temple. Born in the Dymond Hollow section of Exeter Township, he was the son of the late Stanley and Hazel Race Eyet. He graduated from the Joseph Balova School of Watchmaking in New York. He served ini the U.S. Army from 1941-1946, in Company D, 115th Infantry, 29th Division, as heavy machine gunner. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Oakleaf Clusters and numerous other awards. For more than 30 years, he was owner and operator of R.L. Eyet Jewelers in Shavertown, Kingston Township. He was a member of the East Dallas United Methodist Church, and the Disabled American Veter- ans, Kingston. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, the former Mildred Bell; and brothers, Glenn Eyet and Oscar Eyet. Surviving are sons, Russell Jr, Dallas; Jeffrey A. Phillipsburg; five grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Downs, Barker, NY; several nieces and nephews. Interment, Fitch Cemetery, North Moreland. McCain of Applewood Manor, Dallas, died Feb. 17, 1998 in the Hospice Community Care Unit at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes- Barre. Born July 12, 1931, she was the daughter of Helene Ballard Stafford of Dallas and the late C. Warren Tope. A member of Beta Sigma Omi- cron sorority, she graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She was a kindergarten teacher in the Mount Lebanon School Dis- trict from 1953 to 1960 and in the Dallas Area School District from 1965 until retiring.in 1986. She received ‘an award from College Misericordia in 1985 for ° “Excellence in Teaching.” She was a member of the Penn- sylvania State Education Asso- ciation, the National Education Association, Rho Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma and the Dallas Women of Rotary. She was a member of the Mead- ows Nursing Center Auxliary and assisted at Red Cross blood drives and served as substitute driver for Meals on Wheels. She and her husband, Henry, celebrated their 43rd wedding an- niversary on April 8. In addition to her husband and her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Marcy, Houston, TX; a son, Marc, Philadelphia; one granddaughter; brothers, Charles Tope, Aiken, SC; Don Tope, Stuart, FL; a stepbrother, John Stafford, Wheaton, IL; stepsisters, Ruth Duesing, Yalaha, FL: Helen Holschuh, Hilton Head Island, SC; Marion Springer, Inverness, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.
