Crispell, 95, of Sorber Mountain, Lake Township, died Feb. 8, 1998, at the Mercy Center, Dallas where she was a guest ‘since Jan. 19. Born at Sorber Mountain, Sept. 21, 1902, she was the daughter of the late Jefferson Davis and Belinda Swan Kocher. She was a lifelong resident of Sorber Mountain. She attended Rock School on Sorber Mountain until the eighth grade. - During World War II, she oper- ated the Martha Washington Inn at Harveys Lake. After the war, she worked at the former Native Textiles, Dallas, retiring in 1968. She was a lifelong member of the Ruggles United Methodist Church. . She was preceded in death b her husband, Clifford O. Crispell; ‘daughter, Faith Honeywell; brother, John Kocher; sisters, Aseneath Swire, Elsie Wisser, Bessie Bunsek and Bhoebe "Whitmire. Born in Wilkes-Barre. she was the daughter of George and Frances Paddick of Hudson, Plains Township. She resided in Dallas for many years before moving to Shavertown. : She was a graduate of Plains High School, and Wilkes-Barre Business College. She attended Wilkes Ccllege. She had been employed for sev- eral years at RCA in Mountaintop and later affiliated with her hus-- band in his dental practice in Dallas. She was a member or the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church in Dallas, the Auxiliary of the Luzerne County’ Dental Society and was active with its Daffodil Days. She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. Through her efforts, a new pro- gram was begun in the city of Houston, TX to have blood prod- ucts readily available for the pa- tients of the M.D. Anderson Can- cer Center. * One final wish was that anyone who would care to do so, would register for the bone marrow do- nor program so that a cure for leukemia may be possible. Born April 19, 1903in Noxen, he was the son of the late Elmer and Margaret Jones Crispell. He graduated from the Beau- mont schools and from Wyoming Seminary Business College. For more than 50 years, he owned and operated service sta- tions in Noxen. He also worked as a rural mail carrier for the Noxen Post Office and worked in the beam house of the Armour Leather Company of Noxen. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Reformation Church. He was founder of the Noxen Ambulance Association and the Bowman's Creek Lions Club. He was a 50-year member of the George M. Dallas Masonic Lodge, the Bloomsburg Consistory and Irem Temple Shriners. For many years, he voluntered for the Wyoming County Chapter of the American Red Cross. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Helen Traver.
