Robert Cable, 84, of North Lehigh Street, Shavertown, Kingston Township died Feb. 1, 1998 in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Oxford, CT, he was the son of the late Nelson and Cora Bonnett Cable. He graduated from Seymour High School, Seymout, CT; and Ansonia Business School, Ansonia, CT. He served with the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II in Africa and Italy. He was employed as an insur- ance agent and certified licensed underwriter for New York Life In- surance Co. He lived in Shavertown since 1990. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Dorothy Tracey. Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret Davis Shepherd; stepson, James D. Jacob Johnson, who was Wyoming Valley's first settled min- ister in1772. Born May 5, 1948, in Wilkes- Barre, he was the son of Florence Hayner Teetsel and the late Ernest Teetsel. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Wyoming Sand and Stone in Tunkhananock. He was a member of the 20 Limited Rod and Gun Club and the Noxen Fire Co. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest.
