Maskalis, 19, was charged Aug. 27 by Dallas Borough patrolman James Drury for presenting an altered driver's license to police when she was pulled over for drunk driving in May. After re- ceiving an anonymous tip, police found she was 19 years old, not 21 years old, asit stated on her PA driver's license. During a preliminary hearing in August before District Justice James Tupper the DUI charge was waived to county court. The anonymous caller told po- lice that Maskalis had graduated from Lake-Lehman High School in 1995. After contacting the school, police learned that Maskalis was 19 years old. She is charged with forged documents, altered driver's license and for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol as a mi- nor. She waived her right to a’ preliminary hearing before Dis- trict Justice James Tupper. * Wilkes-Barre resident Michael Grabko, 36, was arrested Aug. 29 by Dallas Borough patrolman James Drury. Grabko was driv- ‘ing a Dodge truck and handed police a registration card for a Ford truck. A call to the Back Mountain Comm. Center revealed that the inspection sticker on the Dodge truck expired Jan. 1996. The sticker had been changed to Jan. 1997. Police also ran a check on the license plate number. The plate was a dead tag with no expi- ration date and was last regis- tered on a Ford truck owned by Grabko. He is charged with altered, forged or counterfeit documents and plates and for displaying the altered inspection sticker on his vehicle. A related charge of driv- ing with an invalid driver's license was dismissed. § Your news is welcome The Dallas Post welcomes submissions about Back Mountain people and events.
