Born in Parsons, on Feb. 12, 1914, he was the son of the late Richard and Rose Brown Edwards. -~He graduated from Coughlin High School in 1931. ~ He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. . He was a resident of Dallas for most of his life. He was employed as a press- man for the former International Color Printing Co. for many years. - He was preceded in death by his brother Elmer R. Edwards. Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth Carpenter, with whom he would have celebrated his 56th anniversary on Jan. 16; daughter, Valerie Tirpak, Toms River, NJ; son, James H.
