Trucksville UM to celebrate Laity Day Trucksville United Methodist Church celebrated Laity Day on Oct. 26. Kingston Twp. leaf pick-up thru Nov. 21 The Kingston Township Board of Supervisors announced the annual pick up of bagged leaves has been extended through Nov. 21. Residents are advised to have leaves bagged and placed at the curbside for pickup. The pickup is limited to bagged leaves only. Township crews will be conducting the pickup between the hours of 7 a.m.-3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Township asks the COOPRIation of residents in refraining from sweeping leaves into gutters and roadways. The leaves block storm drains and this poses a serious maintenance problem for the Public Works Department. A Township Ordinance also prohibits this practice. ‘Resident are reminded that bags must contain only leaves. Residents are also reminded that no burning of leaves in gutters .along Townhip roadways will be permitted because of the damage to the ‘asphalt. Autumn Fellowship Luncheon Nov. 20 ~ * The Membership Committee of the Trucksville United Methodist Church will host a special Autumn Fellowship Luncheon and Com- munion Service on November 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Blood drive at Gate of Heaven Nov. 28 * The Back Mountain Blood Council in conjunction with Gate of Heaven Church will sponsor a Blood Drive on Fri., Nov. 28. The drive held in Gate of Heaven Gym , 10 Machell Avenue, between the hours ‘of 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. ~ Sonny Cesarini, coordinator for the Chivireh announced that this drive is a tradition for the church. “The day after Thanksgiving is always a big shopping day,” she states, “but because of the holiday and the beginning of the hunting season on Monday, the need for blood is increased. So itis very important that we make the target for this blood “drive.” There will also be a drawing for dinner for four families at Wendy's, ‘Memorial Highway and a Frosty Coupon for all participants. To donate blood you must be 17 years of age, weigh 105 pounds and ‘be in generally good health. There is no upper age limit to donate blood. Account Service Representative Miniature House Christmas Show The Dream Houses in Miniature Club will hold a Miniature House Christmas Show, Sat., Nov. 29, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Back Mountain Medidical Center, Upper Demunds Road, Dallas. The picture is of a miniature house owned by Pastor L.D. Reed of Harveys Lake, a member of the club. All the houses will be decorated for Christmas and it is hoped the show will start the Christmas Season Festivities in the Back Mountain area. The show is free to the community to thank them for their support in past efforts to raise money for worthy causes. Bingo Party to be held November 23 Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Bingo Party, sponsored by the Holy Name Society and High School Youth Ministry will be held Sun. Nov. 23 at7 p.m. in Fr. Sammons Hall.
