Sixteen teams shot 72 or better to qualify for championship play. Mark Kopec and Carlyle Robinson repeated as champions. Don Gosart lined up a putt on #7. He and Joe Paratore took third in the 9th flight. PLAYING AT THE POTENTATE Mark Webster blasted out of a sand trap. Carolyn Byron of Dallas took silver in the women’s age 10 and under freestyle swimming at 115.66 in the 25 meter. She also won silver in the 50 meter. Joanne Van Saun of Dallas won the bronze medal in women's open golf with a two-day total of 197. Jill Marchakitus of Hunlock Creek won silver in the women’s age 15-16 heptathlon, with 1,408 points. Joel Wright of Hunlock Creek won the silver in the 181 Ib. weightlifting class with lifts of 210 and 370. Dave Walters of Hunlock Creek led the Pocono Junior male soccer team to a gold medal, scoring two goals in the medal game and six overall. He advises all hunters to obtain their licenses as soon as possible. The schedule is as follows: Thurs., July 31, Deadline to obtain Muzzleloader licenses. No more will be sold after this date.
