The Academy is a a national organization that recognizes excellence in mathematics. The students must maintain good grades in math as well as exhibit a positive attitude towards math and school in general. Hartman receives citizenship award At an Awards Progam held recently at the Lehman-Jackson Elementary School, Lehman, the Michael S. Gruen Citizenship Award was presented to Amy Hartman, daughter of David and Donna Hartman, Crescent Ledge Drive, Dallas. This award is presented annually in memory of Michael Gruen, a 6th grade teacher at Lehman-Jackson who died in an automobile accident in October, 1976. The recipient is selected by teachers and students on the basis of those qualities which best exemplify a good citizen-academics, dependability, honesty, co-operation, respect and leadership.
