Donna Cupinski, general chair for the 35th annual fair an- nounced plans at a recent meet- ing of the Dallas Area Fall Fair Association. The Night at the Races is scheduled for Sat., June 7, and will be held at the Dallas American Legion. Participants must be 21 years of age. Advance tickets are available from any club member or by calling 675-1937 after 6 p.m. The proceeds from the event will offset costs for events planned specifically for the anniversary celebration of the Luzerne County Fair. The fair is scheduled for September 3-7 at the 118 fair- grounds location in Dallas. Memorial for victims of Harveys Lake fire A Community Memorial Service isbeing planned for the nine victims who lost their lives in a fire at the Country Manor, Harveys Lake, on May 13. The service will be held on Sun., June 8, 12 noon at the Beach Club in the Sandy Beach area of Harveys Lake. (Directions: At the Grotto, turn left follow Lakeside Drive for three miles). Dallas UM to hold picinic June 10 The Dallas United Methodist Women are holding a picnic June 10 at 5:30 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Carey, Sterling Ave., Dallas. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Centermoreland United Methodist Centemoreland United Meth- odist Church invites children to a hot air ballooning adventure. “This summer we will be trans- forming the church into a Son Rise Balloon Adventure, where children will lift off on a journey of faith. We will be having lively songs, skits, crafts, games, Bible studies and snacks, all the things that make Vacation Bible School so popular with children and their parents. They were married May 10, 1947 at Central Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre, by the late Dr. Howard Attendants were Alice Kishbaugh Kauffman, Theodore Spanos, Joan Kishbaugh Bryson, Lucille Gross Spanos, Richard Daley and Elmer Kishbaugh Jr. Mrs. Beisel is the former Hope Kishbaugh, daughter of the late Elmer and Esty Kishbaugh of Wilkes-Barre. Mr. Beisel is the son of the late Leon and Florence Beisel, Trucksville. The Beisels are the parents of a daughter, Kathie Hospodar, Trucksville, and a son, Gary, Trucksville; five grandchildren: Jamie Roman Case, Jennifer Roman, Christopher Roman, Jeffery Beisel and Rebecca Beisel; twin great-grandsons, Taylor and Cory To celebrate the anniversary, a family dinner was held at Overbrook Inn, Dallas. Environmental camp at Frances Slocum Park The popular Youth Environ- mental Learning Series will be conducted once more at Frances Slocum State Park.
