' He and his wife, the former Barbara Dorek, celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary last September. Roberts Husted, RD 5, Tunkhannock, died May 7, 1997, at home after a lengthy illness. Born and educated in Dallas, daugher of Blanche Bay Roberts, Benton and the late John Rob- erts, she was a member of Pilgrim Holiness Church, Tunkhannock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Husted Sr.; and daughter, Peggy Cobb. Also surviving are five daugh- ters, Darlene Sakosky and Deborah Marsico, both of Scranton; Yvonne Husted, Mill City; Sandra Allen, Moscow; Cheryl Harvey, Meshoppen; four sons, Emerson Jr., Auburn, IN; Edward and Timothy, both of Tunkhannock; and Randy, at home; 33 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Dolores Sorber, Mooretown; Sally Brown, Shavertown; Betty Ann Amos, Dallas; Blanche Getz, Stillwater; Lela Wills, Tampa, FL; Theresa Kubasek, Nancy Slusser and Lori Tutnitus, all of Benton; and Thelma Beuley, Bloomsburg; brothers, Johndr., Arlington, Guy and Richard, all of Benton; and Bruce, Stillwater; nieces, neph- ews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Interment, Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. ELIZABETH KINTZER Elizabeth (Betty) M. Kintzer, 76, of Kissimmee, FL, formerly of Dallas, died April 30, 1997, at home. Born in Ashley, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Leah Schmidt. She served in the U.S. Army as a nurse during World War II. Before retiring, she was em- ployed by the Dallas School Dis- trict as a housekeeper. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Kissimmee. Surviving is her husband of 49 years, Lawrence F. Kintzer; daugh- ter, Beverly Martinolich, Palm Coast, FL; Lauren Marcikonis, Dallas; Dorothy May, Dallas; three grandchildren. Private funeral services were held at the convience of the fam- ily. DOROTHY HARDING Dorothy Harding, 73, of . Centermoreland, died May 12, 1997 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born. Aug... 29, 1923 in Centermoreland, she was the daughter of the late William and Helen Dymond. She was a life- time resident of Centermoreland. She attended Northmoreland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Dymond; sisters, Marion Edwards, Hazel Brown and Grace Brunges. She and her husband, Ken- neth, celebrated their 52nd anni- versary this year. Surviving in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Mrs. Susan Reeves, North Lauderdale, FL; a son, Kenneth Jr.. Centermoreland; two grandchil- dren; a sister, Mildred Arthur, Laceyville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services willbe 11 a.m. Thursday from the Nulton Fu- neral Home, Route 309, Beau- mont, with the Rev. James R. Howell, pastor of Northmoreland Baptist Church officiating. ELIZABETH OLIVER Elizabeth (Betty) Oliver, for- merly of Dallas and Wilkes-Barre, died May 7, 1997 in the Wilkes- Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Pauline Lanker Oliver. She attended Wilkes-Barre city schools. She was preceded in death by a brother, Morgan Oliver. Surviving are brothers, Will- iam Oliver, Dallas; Lloyd Oliver Jr., Bensalem; sisters, Mrs. Clara Linker, Dallas; Mrs. Florence Rinehimer, Shavertown; numer- ous nieces and nephews. Kasko announces candidacy for Jackson Township board Andrew Kasko Jr., of Kasko Road, Shavertown, has an- nounced his gandidacy for his second term as Jackson Town- ship Supervisor on the Demo- cratic ticket. Alifelong resi- dent of the town- ship, Kasko graduated from Lehman High School. He § served as a Sec- Andrew Kasko ond Class Ma- chinist in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years. For 20 years he was a Jackson Township Police Officer and is retired from his job as Supervisor of Luzerne County's Flood Control Unit. He is a life member of the Jack- son Township Volunteer Fire Com- pany, which he served 20 years as a fire fighter. Andy, also is a member of the Jackson Township Volunteer Ambulance Associa- tion, and was past president of the fire company. Kasko is also a member of the George M. Dallas Lodge No. 531 Free and Accepted Massons, An- cient Accepted Scottish Rite Lodge Council Chapter Consistory Val- ley of Bloomsburg; Irem Temple Shriner, American Legion Post 0967, Harveys Lake and Back Mountain Police Association, of which he is also a past president. Kasko is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kasko, Sr. and father of five children. Kasko believes that his many years of community service, in- volvement in various civic affairs and extensive knowlege of the township will continue to be an asset to his work as township Supervisor. Heinbach, 42, was arrested F¢b. 14 by Dallas Township pa- trolman Brian Feeney after police observed him driving erratically on Lower Demunds Rd. Heinbach ~ was swerving into the oncoming traffic lane and off the road. + When Feeney stopped him and asked for his license and insur- ance card, Heinbach said he did not have it. Feeney told Heinbach to stay stopped while he went to get a piece of paper to write down Heinbach'’s information so a li- cense check could be done, ac- cording to police reports. At this time Heinbach drove back onto Lower Demunds Rd. heading : Noith He did not stop for police and continued to drive at speeds up to 45 mph in the 35 mph zone. Heinbach'’s car spun around in a resident's lawn at Ryman and Ll L] Lower Demunds. He then jumped out of his car and ran behind the house. Feeney chased and caught him, but Heinbach shook loose. Feeney caught up with him again and this time subdued him. After refusing to submit to field sobriety tests, a breath showed his blood alcohol level to be .227, two time greater than the legal limit. Heinbach will face charges of driving under the influence, re- sisting arrest, escape and reck- less driving in Luzerne County Court. After failing field sobriety tests, he refused to take a breath for blood test to determine his blood alcohol level. When someone re- fuses to take a blood alcohol test they automatically lose their li- cense for one year. A charge of driving under the influence was forwarded for trial.
