Dallas School District reminder to register students The Dallas School District is requesting the cooperation of par- ents with children of school age who have not registered for the 1997-98 school year. Itis essential that the district is informed, as soon as possible, of all new students planning to reg- ister. Especially the kindergarten and first grade students. Problems occur with class and school building assignments as well as transportation arrange- ments when students are regis- tered late. Parents of new stu- dents or those transferring from other schools are strongly encour- aged to register their children im- mediately. Late elementary regis- trants may not be assigned to the most convenient school building. All kindergarten through 5th grade students are to register in the Administration Building, Church St., Dallas. Middle and Senior High students will register at their respective school offices located on Conyngham Ave., Dal- las. Parents must bring birth cer- tificates, report cards from the previous school, social security cards and immunization records. No student will be allowed to en- ter school without proof of the newly required immunizations. If there are any questions, call the school district at 675-5201. Annual Day Camp at St. Paul's St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Shavertown is planning its Third Annual Day Camp July 7-11 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Children who are entering grades Kindergarten through 6th are invited to join in the fun. The cost for the week long camp is $45 per camper and this includes snacks throughout the day, drinks to accompany lunches and a picnic lunch on Friday. A typical day at Day Camp, operated by Bear Creek Camp staff and volunteers begins with singing of camp songs and a thought for the day. Campers are placed in age appropriate groups and move through daily sessions. The first session may be games, where non competitive activities are played using equipment such as parachutes, beach balls and blindfolds. Campers discover the fun of everybody winning and nobody losing. In Arts and Crafts, campers create their own projects using a variety of supplies and materials. The third session is Nature, where campers have the opportunity to experience and learn about the environment in their own locale. The sessions are scheduled between snacks and a lunch break. The afternoon con- cludes with reflection upon the day's events. On Friday, the campers will enjoy a field trip to a local farm. The events for the day include hiking, swimming in a pool, yard games and a picnic. This is a fun day for the campers as well as the staff. Day Camp is a chance to expe- rience the fun and excitement of camp without leaving home. If you are interested in the camp, please call the church office, 675- 3859. Everyone is welcome. @ Tr Replacement CV Shafts Trailer Hitches - brake control and complete wiring packages Lifetime Guarantee to the Original Purchaser on Mufflers, Shocks, Hitches and CV Shafts New and Reconditioned Converters at Low Prices *See your store for details Bought it elsewhere?
