The day will begin at 8:15 with a kick- off assembly, followed by three 40 minute sessions. These sessions will each have speakers from vari- ous careers in the community. Included in the 69 speakers are Jim Miller, Keith Martin, Glenda Crabtree Wilson, Paul Warshal, “Cookie Man,” and Joel Simms. This project involves everyone using what some have labeled the “Triangle of Success.” This “tri- angle” consists of the school, home, and community. Miss Robyn Jones, a guidance counse- lor at Dallas, is the creator of this career day. Students were polled to determine which speakers would attend. Entertainment and refreshments will be provided by the Dallas Jazz Band, Kristen Faerber, and Miss Ide’s Foods classes. All speakers were chosen from the surrounding community. The PTSA, which is made up of area parents, was involved in much of the planning process. A representative from the PTSA will be present in every presentation room. The students have eagerly awaited Wednesday to learn about the careers they themselves may have in the years to come. If you would like to know more about the career day, please call the Guidance Office at 675-5201. — by Joy Morgan Children's recipes sought for library cookbook Maryann Daily is looking for 40 or more children's recipes that children can make themselves.
