2 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, March 26, 1997 TR DISTRICT COURT BRIEFS News rack theft yields little _ Dallas resident Joseph ‘Bardzel, 18, and Tunkhannock resident ‘Rabert Zamber, Jr., 19, were arrested Jan. 24 by Dallas Borough patrolman James Martin for stealing a Citizens’ Voice newspaper \dispenser from Mr. Z's in Dallas. The two were discovered in a sparsely populated area in Exeter. Exeter officers came across Bardzel and Zamber standing in the middle of the road with the paper dispenser, trying to get the money out of it. .. Bardzel's car was parked in front of them with lights on, so they could see the money that had fallen out, Bardzel later told police. +, Dallas Borough was informed of the incident and called the two in for questioning. Both Bardzel and Zamber separately told police they ‘were coming back from taking a friend into Wilkes-Barre and needed gas and some food on the way back. They tossed around a few ideas before deciding to steal a newspaper dispenser and take the money from it. = , The Citizens’ Voice was informed and sent to two employees to retrieve the dispenser. The men told police the dispenser yields approximately $10 a day and that there was approximately $11 damage done to it. Both were charged with theft by unlawful taking, conspiring theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief. D.U.L. CHARGES The following people waived their right to a preliminary hear- ing in front of Judge James Tupper on March 20: * Trucksville resident Donald M. Cool, Sr., 55, who was arrested ondJan. 19 by Kingston Township patrolman James Ibbotson after police observed him driving er- ratjeally on Rt. 309, Harris Hill Rd. and Lehigh St. Ibbotson was made aware of Cool when he ob- served Cool's vehicle and another racing on Rt. 309 near the King- storn Twp. Municipal Building. Cool refused to take both a field sobriety test and a blood alcohol test. Refusal of taking a blood alcohol test results in a one year driver's license suspension. * Dallas resident Andrew Gulla Jr., 76, who was arrested on Jan. 13 by Kingston Township patrol- man James Ibottson after police observed him driving erratically on Hillside Rd. and Rt. 309. Gulla pulled over on Rt. 309, blocking traffic in the right lane. He imme- diately got out of his truck and Ibbotson led him to the side of the Ioad.away from traffic where he fepeatedly asked the defendant to fee onto the curb. HARASSMENT CHARGED pr Wilkes-Barre resident Joseph Charles Triplett, 48, was arrested o1.Feb. 3 by Harveys Lake patrol- Hian Damian Hoover after police b dre called to a domestic dispute ai ithe lake. The defendant and his girlfriend reportedly broke up and he moved out of the house they shared. On Feb. 3, Triplett allegedly made calls of a threatening nature to his girlfriend and her friend at the house. He stated that he had been drinking for three days and if he could not have her, no one could. Police said on the same day, Triplett drove to the house and was banging and kicking on the front and back doors. He also took a metal bar and threw it against the front door. As police arrived the defendant got into his car and drove to Rt. 415 where police pulled him over and got him out of his car. On the way to Harveys Lake police sta- tion, Triplett began to kick the back window of the patrol car in which he was riding. Only after police warned that he would be sprayed with pepper spray did he stop. Triplett is charged with simple assault, criminal mischief, disor- derly conduct, driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a suspended license. A re- lated charge of terroristic threats was dropped. THEFT CHARGES Dallasgresident Brian Krasniak, 24, pled ‘guilty to one count of Le, “theft by unlawful taking on March 20. “He was charged by Dallas Borotigh patrolman James Drury after Krasniak's ex-girlfriend in- formed police that he had stolen her car battery on Jan. 20. His ex-girlfriend took police to Krasniak's parent's home to see if he was there. He was not, but his stepfather told them to just take the battery out of the car.
