This marks the 20th year that the Women's Club has given a book scholar- ship, as part of the group's com- mitment to furthering the educa- tion of children in the Back Moun- tain. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of financial need, scho- lastic achievement, school activi- ties and community involvement. Applications are available from the Guidance Departments of Dallas High School and Bishop O'Reilly High School. 'Sillie Millie Magic Show’ April 10 The Westmoreland PTO is spon- soring “Sillie Millie Magic Show” on Thurs., April 10 at 7 p.m. The show will be held at the Dallas Middle School. All proceeds will go toward student activities at the Westmoreland Elementary School. This special two person show features the amazing antics of Silly Millie. Despite how the ma- gician plays tricks on her, she manages to always come out okay. The use of live animals is a delight for everyone. All ages are sure to enjoy this entertaining evening. The contest, sponsored by Joe and Sue Hand, is open to any student in the school districts of Dallas, Lehman, Northwest or Tunkhannock, or to any student who studies art with a teacher in one of those districts. Over 900 pieces of artwork were entered into this year’s show. Three hundred thirty awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4h and Honorable Mention were given to 197 stu- dents. Over 40 special awards sponsored by area businesses and individuals were also awarded.
