Munzing of Shaver- town, Kingston Township, died Feb. 27,1997, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. _BornMay 6, 1926 in Somerville, NJ; he was the son of the late Frank and Ethel Slater Munzing. '. ‘He graduated from E.L. Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre and attended Wilkes College. ‘He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and with the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves. ,- Before retiring in 1987, he was * employed by the Wilkes-Barre Postal Service. He was also em- ployed by the Mamary-Durkin Funeral Home Inc. for the past 35 years. © He was a member of the Shav- ertown United Methodist Church, where he served as head usher; the George M. Dallas Lodge 531 F&AM; Irem Temple, Dallas, where he ‘was a member of the Brass Band, the Wilkes-Barre Shrine Club; American Legion Post 0395. « He was active in St. Theresa's Baseball and American Legion Baseball for the past 40 years. He was enshrined in the Penn- sylvania American Legion Base- ball Hall of Fame in 1990. . He and his wife, the former Cassie Leons, celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on Aug. ' 28, 1996. Kuhnert, 67, of Route 29 North, Pikes Creek, died, March 2, 1997 at his home. ~ Born in Lebanon, he was the son of Sylvia Reed Kuhnert of Dallas and the late Raymond E. Kuhnert. He graduated from Dallas Township High School. He lived in Dallas Township for many years before moving to Pikes Creek in 1985. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as awelder by Nicholson Steam Trap Co., Wilkes-Barre. He was a member of the Dallas United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Gregory Kuhnert. Surviving are a son, R. Gre- gory, Queensbury, NY; daughters, Sally Wesley and Sandra Morris, both of Sweet Valley, Ross Town- ship; and three grandsons. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Rich- ard H. King's to hold annual sale Plans are underway for the 23rd annual King's College Alumni Antique Sale/Flea Market and Craft Sale set for March 22 and 23, in the King's Scandlon Gym- nasium, North Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Over the last 22 years, the event has raised over $80,000 for the Robert J. Ell Scholarship Fund at King's. Committee members are ask- ing for donations of items by the public to this annual fundraising event.
