§ | | ut 1 2 The Dallas Post Dallas, PA Wednesday, February 19, 1997 Penn State celebrates engineers with program In celebration of National Engi- neers Week, Feb. 16-22, the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus will hold an Open House on Wed., Feb. 19, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Bell Atlantic Center for Tech- nology building on the campus in Lehman. The free program is open to anyone interested in the engineering field and its educa- tional and career opportunities. High school students who would like to pursue an engineering ca- reer and their teachers are espe- cially encouraged to attend. - Highlight of the evening's pro- gram is a video of a teleconference broadcast live via satellite that day entitled “Discover Engineer- ing: Engineers Make a World of Difference.” The teleconference video, which will be shown at 6:45 p.m. features a panel of high school students, college undergraduates, and engineering professionals, and provides an interesting in- sight into the world of engineer- ing. Penn State engineering faculty will be on hand to answer ques- tions and present hands-on dem- onstrations in the state-of-the art engineering labs. Those attend- ing will have the opportunity to sit in on an engineering class. Also, admissions counselors will provide information on Penn State scholarhsips and financial aid.
