She graduated from Kingston High School and resided in Dallas for the past 51 years. She was a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Fred W.; a son, Fred M., Spring Grove; a daughter, Bonnie J. Drust, Chapel Hill, NC; four grandchildren. Interment, Oaklawn Cemetery, Wilkes-Barre. GEORGE GABEL George T. Gabel, 79, of Roushey Street, Dallas, died Nov. 18, 1996, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hos- pital. Born in Jackson Township, he was the son of the late Jacob and Marie Gabel. He served as a B-25 pilot with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War Il in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. He was employed by the Inter- national Brotherhood of Electri- cal Workers beginning as a line- man and retiring as an assistant business manager. He was a lifelong member of the Back Mountain area. He was a member of the [.B.E.W. Local 1319, for more than 50 years; the Hump Pilots Asso- ciation; the China-Burma-India Veterans Association; the Retired Senior-Volunteer Program. He was also a bluegrass musi- cian. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold. She was a member of the Shav- ertown United Methodist Church, Shavertown, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of its Circle Club, also Dallas Chapter 396 Order of the Eastern Star.
