The second install- ment of Lake-Lehman's Early Childhood /Pre-school Program is scheduled from December 10, 11, and 12, and will feature “Math Readiness: Activities and Strate- gies for Parents and Children.” Lake-Lehman School District teaching staffwill present the Math Readiness program. The presen- tation will include basic math readiness skills to prepare 4-year- olds for a successful school ca- reer. The parents will prepare one activity to use with their child at home. : Separate activities including storytime, games, crafts, and snacks are scheduled for the chil- dren at each elementary school. The schedule for this pre-school program is as follows: Dec. 10, Ross, 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m.; Lake- Noxen, Dec. 11,9a.m.-10:30a.m.; LLehman-Jackson, Dec. 12,9a.m.- 10:30 a.m. Topic: Math Readi- ness: Activities and Strategies for Parents and Children. Fire Prevention at Lehman-Jackson The Lake-Lehman Jackson Elementary PTA recently sponsored Fire Prevention Week. The Lehman Township Volunteer Fire Dept. visited the school to discuss fire safety with 156 kindergarten and 1st graders. Students were treated to a peek at a real fire truck and participated in a discussion on fire fighting equipment. Fire fighters reviewed fire safety rules for the children and demonstrated the use of fire fighting turnout gear worn by the fire fighters. Dukas is a freshman at King’s and a recent graduate of Dallas Senior High School. The Moreau Scholarship is awarded to those students who rank in the top 10 percent of their high school graduating class. Itis based on strong SAT and ACT performance, outstanding scho- lastic achievements, exemplary leadership and personal qualities.
