High school play rescheduled Nov. 26-27 The Dallas Senior High School will present its fall play on Tues- day and Wednesday, November 26 and 27. The production will take place at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Due to the recent mercury spill, the play was postponed from its original dates of the November 22 and 23. Mr. Hopkins would like to thank the cast and crew and the entire district staff for their hard work and cooperation that has enabled the play to be presented prior to the Thanksgiving holiday. This performance of The Curi- ous Savage marks the 10th anni- versary of the play's first perfor- mance at Dallas. The cast is looking forward to providing alumni the opportunity to see the play again. The comedy should provide a great way to start the holiday fes- tivities because it combines slap- stick farce and high comedy that is suitable for the whole family. The audience is left with the feel- ing that the often neglected vir- tues of kindness, affection and understanding have not been en- tirely lost in a world that some- times seems (o be motivated only by greed and dishonesty. The two-act comedy by John Patrick is about Mrs. Savage, who has inherited $10 million from her late husband. With her inher- itance, Mrs. Savage plans to es- tablish a memorial fund for her husband. Her stepchildren, who can't wail to get their hands on the money, commit Mrs. Savage to a sanitarium in the hope of forcing her to hand the money over to them. While at the sanitarium, Mrs. Savage meets and becomes friends with five social misfits. Comedy ensues with the various crazy antics and quirks of the five friends. With the help of the fivesome, a doctor, and a nurse, Mrs. Savage is able to play tricks on her three stepchildren and save her memo- rial fund. The play is directed by Donald Hopkins, assisted by Audrey Ide. Seniors in the cast and crew in- clude stage manager Tracy Jones and cast members Kristen Faerber, Joy Morgan, Allison Pi- azza, Allison Rothstein, and Rob- ert Webb.
