When we are back in session I will try to get several pending bills passed, and start working again on the PACE program.” QUESTION NO. 4. Moderator: Mr. James, with all the recent emphasis on family values, would you describe your family for us? James: “] trust my family speaks for itself. My wife, Kathy, who was a Charney, supports me fully and reminds me to ‘tell them what you'll do.’ We have five great kids: Bill, 22; Heather, 18; Kelly, 15; Molly, 14; Kristina, 7 and if our dog Blackie counts, he is 9.” Moderator: Ms. Mundy, your turn. : Mundy: “I divide my family into ‘external’ and ‘internal.’ The externals are my Mom and Dad in Florida, their name was Block and Dad was a plant manager for Nelson Furniture. They came north recently-so he could run my campaign for re-election. I love them dearly. My sister and I are close too, and my 25-year old son Brian is the apple of my eye. Of course l am prejudiced in his case. His lovely wife April is the daugh- ter I never had. 1 love them all.” QUESTION NO. 5. Moderator: Mr. James what do you think of your chances at this late date? James: “Excellent! There are a lot of issues for folks to consider if they just take a good look.” Moderator: Ms Mundy, your chances? Mundy: “Quite good.” QUESTION NO. 6. of your party's presidential chances? James: “I can answer that by saying I don't believe in polls. At every meeting I address I always ask for a show of hands from those who have been polled. With- out fail, I never see a single hand raised!” Moderator: Ms. Mundy, your o h party's presidential chances? Mundy: “Quite good.” After some laughter by both moderator and candidate, she adds, “Seri- ously, it depends on the turnout. I hope for a good one. As a Past President of the League of Women. Voters, I know how important turnout can be.” QUESTION NO. 7. Moderator: would you sum up your cam- -paign? You have 90 seconds. James: “I would ask voters to consider whether they are satis- fied with education (and strikes) in the areas? Do they want tax reform and property tax reduc- tion? If they give themselves hon- est answers they'll know how to vote. As for my campaign, [ am grateful for all the help and sup- | port I have received. I would do it @ the same way again but that won't be necessary.” Moderator: Ms. Mundy? You have 90 seconds. Mundy: “I am very grateful, and very proud, of my support. ‘We had a great mailing with. a wonderful letter written by Harold Rosenn. There were some good TV spots too. Oh, and there were thousands of phone calls by vol- @ E I am very satisfied.” | unteers.
