EUNICE MITCHELL
Eunice D. Mitchell, 71, of
Kunkle, died Oct. 10, 1996, at her
home.
Born Jan. 10, 1925, in Beau-
mont, she was the daugher of the
late Arno and Anna Fritz Smith.
She lived all of her life in the
Back Mountain and graduated
from the Beaumont schools.
She was amember ofthe Kunkle
United Methodist Church and the
United Methodist Women's Soci-
ety.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Charles “Bud”
Mitchell; sons, Gary Mitchell and
Ronald Hess; a sister, Isabel Tay-
lor.
Surviving are adaugher, Gloria
Chmiola, Harrisburg; a son, David
Mitchell, Harveys Lake; nine
grandchildren; two great-grand-
children; sisters, Bernice Hayner,
Beaumont; Romaine Stela, FL;
several nieces and nephews.
Interment, Chapel Lawn Cem-
etery, Dallas.

Born Dec. 11, 1913 in Vernon,
she was the daughter of the late
Theodore Ross Evans and
Josephine Price Evans.
She was a member of Fellow-
ship Evangelical Free Church,
Dallas. She served as Deaconess
at the Wyoming Avenue Christian
~ Church, Kingston.
She was preceded in death by a
~ grandson, Matthew David Carr:
her husband, Harry; sisters, Rose
Jones, Lucy Zarnoch and Janet
. Evans.
Surviving are a son, Major Gen.
Richard E. (USAF Ret.), Punta
Gorda, FL; a granddaughter; sis-
ters, Mrs. Pansy Morgan,
Torrington, CT; Mrs. Myrtie

Dorothy J. Veitch, 62, of North
Empire Street, Wilkes-Barre, died
at the Hospice Community Care
Inpatient-unit of Mercy Hospital,
Wilkes-Barre.
Born Jan. 6, 1934, she was the
daughter of the late Nicholas and
Frances Gill Kolesar.
She attended the Wilkes-Barre
schools and was employed in the
garment industry for many years
by Lee's Dress Factory, Pittston
and Stanley's Dress Manufactur-
ing, Wilkes-Barre.
Aresident of Dallas for 20 years,
sheresided in Wilkes-Barre, since
1977.
She attended the Parsons
Primitive Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a
son, David; brother, Kenneth
Kolesar.
Surviving are a daughter, Su-
san Parry, Dallas; a brother,
Nicholas Kolesar, Goose Creek,
SC.
Interment was at the conve-
nience of the family.
RICHARD KINDLER
Richard J. Kindler, 52, of Chase
Road, Jackson Township, died
Oct. 12, 1996, at the Wilkes-Barre
General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was
the son of Edward and Marie
Brolley Kindler.
He graduated from E.L. Meyers
High School, Wilkes-Barre, in
1962.
He served in the U.S. Air Force
during the Vietnam War.
He was employed as an insur-
ance agent by Metropolitan Life.
He was a self-employed insur-
ance broker for the Underwriter's
Group, Kingston.
He lived in Wilkes-Barre before
moving to Jackson Township in
1973.
He was chairman of the Jack-
son Township Municipal Author-
ity, a past president of the Back
Mountain Little League, a mem-
ber of the Knights of Columbus,
and St. Therese's Church,
Shavertown, Kingston Township,
its finance committee and its
C.C.D. program.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Charlotte Eckenrode:
daughters, Christine, Chestnut
Hill; Debra, at home; sons, Michael
R., Wilkes-Barre; James D.
Shavertown; Charles X., at home:
brothers, Edward P. Jr., Forty
Fort and John, Flemington, NJ.

Kingston Township is currently seeking applicants for
the part-time, seasonal position of School Crossing Guard.
School Crossing Guards report to the Chicf-of-Police
and are responsible for the orderly control of traffic and
children at their assigned intersection/bus stop. This posi-
tion will be assigned the intersection of Hillside Road and
Carverton Road. The position is one hour per day, Monday
- Friday, on school days. The Chief-of-Police may alter
assignments and set hours at his discretion. Applicants
must have the physical and mental ability to handle stress-
ful situations and to withstand long periods of time in
