There is usually not much to
say about an injured or sick skunk
call, which most WCO's approach
with caution for obvious reasons.
This particular callled me toan
anxious lady who was having her
roof repaired. She told me that
one of the roofers walked up be-
hind the skunk and placed a large
bucket over it so it wouldn't es-
cape. | asked her about the
skunk's behaviour before I ar-
rived. She told me it had come
from a ripped open garbage bag
across the street and that it had a
staggering gait.
Lifting up the bucket while
praying and holding my breath, I
observed .a sick looking skunk,
which I promptly dispatched and
placed in a trash bag for removal.
When we checked the open
garbage bag for more skunks
found a very large wine bottle with
some wine left in it. The lady said
“I guess this brings meaning to
the phrase drunk as a skunk."
How could I disagree with that
logic?
