Two pageant preliminaries will be held in the Back Mountain. The first will be Sat., Oct. 5 during the Joan Thomas Memorial Walk for the Animals. The walk will be held beginning at 11 a.m. at Frances Slocum State Park in Kingston Township. The other will take place Sat., Oct. 12 at 10 a.m. at Hoof 'n' Paw & Jeans on Main Road in Dallas. Any dog at least one year old maybe entered without charge. Dogs must be on a leash, and dressed for the occasion. Entrants will compete in the "Talent" category while wearing a sportswear outfit.
