Vidumsky, 19, waived their rights to preliminary hearings on misdemeanor charges of possession of a firearm with intent to commit a crime. They were arrested July 24 by Dallas Twp. officer Wayman Miers after police saw their car leaving the Dough Company restaurant on Rte. 309 while it wasn't open for business. When Miers pulled over the car, which Wylie was driving, at New Goss Manor, he saw a pas- senger later identified as Vidumsky stuff something into his left side and saw an empty DENTIST WAIVES RIGHT TO PRELIMINARY HEARING Dr. Joseph Mazula, the anes- thesiologist charged with invol- untary manslaughter in connec- tion with the May 1 death of Jonathan Walski, 3, of Sweet Val- ley, waived his right to a prelimi- nary hearing Sept. 6. The child died after receiving anesthetic from Mazula and suf- fering an adverse reaction to the medication while undergoing a routine procedure in the office of Dr. William Watkins in Dallas. The state board of dentistry suspended his licenses to prac- tice dentistry and administer an- esthesia for six months June 4. Mazula is free on $25,000 bail. Police found a Smith & Wesson .357 pistol containing four rounds oflive ammunition under the front seat, an empty case of .357 am- munition, an empty cylinder, a BB pellet gun, a crowbar, a nail puller and a jack handle. According to a records check, the pistol is registered to Jeffrey Jay Smith of Wilkes-Barre, who told police he had loaned it to his brother, Justin Smith, who was not in the car. All four men told police they didn’t know the gun was in the car. Assisting in the arrest were Dallas Borough patrolman James Drury, Dallas Twp. officer Fred Rosencrans and Kingston Twp. officer Robert Parrish.
