L-L Tech Student Ass'n. wins many prizes in state contest On April 18, 19, 20, 1996, 17 Lake-Lehman Technology Student Association club members at- tended the statewide competition held al the Seven Springs Resort in Champion, PA. The compeli- tion involved many different ar- eas of technology related to a student's technology education courses. These Lake-LLehman stu- dents qualified for the statewide competition by winning in the dis- trict competition that was held at the Lehman Campus of Penn State University on March 1, 1996. Lake-Lehman students com- peted very successfuly in numer- ous events at the state competi- tion. Of the 17 students who participated, six won individual compelitive categories and two teams won group competitive cat- egories. The state competition is divided into two levels. Levell is for grades 7, 8 and 9; Level Il is for grades 10, 11 and 12. Overall, Lake-Lehman students won 1 l'places at the state compe- tition. Two places were won in the Level 1 division, and nine places were won by Level Il division. SPROG: Vodzak to attend HOBY youth leadership conference 5, Jennifer Vodzak, a sophomore at Dallas Senior High School will represent the school at the 18th annual Central Pennsylvania Leadership Seminar of the Hugh O'Brian Youth Foundation (HOBY), May 16-19, at Millersville University. Jennifer has been an Honors with Distinction student at Dallas since the sixth grade. She has won numerous awards for her scholastic achievements, includ- ing the American Legion Award for distinguished achievement. Active in her school, Jen is a student council and a sophomore steering committee representa- tive. She has been part of the committee exploring the four-pe- riod day curriculum to be enacted next year. As part of the History Day com- petition at Penn State-Lehman, her team took third place and will compete in States at the Penn State-Main Campus on May 8 and 0. Jen is also a member of the Forensics team, a former member of the Law Explorers, and a mem- ber of the Medical Explorers Post, through the Boy Scouts. For the past two years, Jen has volunteered in a program tutor- ing students from 1st to 5th grade at Dallas Elementary. PTA honors bus drivers | JENNIFER VODZAK As a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Jen is a lay reader at Mass and a Sunday school teach- ers aide. She enjoys babysitting, reading, indoor soccer and is a self-taught calligrapher. Oldest of four sisters, she is the daughter of John and Ann Vodzak of Dal- las.
