Born March 4, 1908 in Kansas, IL, he was the son of the late James Patrick and Lois Fairchild Kiley. : He graduated from Kansas High School, Kansas, IL and the Uni- versity of Illinois. In 1956, he was named presi- dent of First-Second National Bank, Wilkes-Barre. He was a former chairman and chiefexecu- tive officer of First Eastern Bank and its predecessor from 1956 to 1974. He served on the Wilkes Uni- versity Board of Trustees and was its past chairman of the board. He was an Elder and member of the First Presbyterian Church ofWilkes-Barre and served on the board of directors of UGI Utilities Inc. He also was its consultant. He was on the board of directors for the Sordoni Foundation and helped found Leadership Wilkes- Barre. He was a 33rd degree mason and member of Irem Temple, Wilkes-Barre, and he received the . Distinguished Citizens Award from the Boy Scouts of America Northeastern Pennsylvania Coun- cil. He was named to the Busi- ness Hall of Fame by the Junior Achievement Award and was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Wilkes-Barre.
