ASHLEY CARLE Sr Red Cross to host blood drive March 29 in area’ The Wyoming Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a Back Mountain blood drive Fri- day, March 29, 1 to 6 p.m. at the Shavertown United Methodist Church, 162 North Pioneer Ave. The goal for this drive is 90 units. Past drives have dropped to less than 70 units. The Wyoming Valley Chapter must collect 325- 350 units every day to met the needs of patients in 41 area hos- pitals. Transfusions of blood and blood products are required for patients with anemia, hemophilia, leukemia, other types of cancer, accident injuries and burns, as well as surgery patients and seri- ously ill newborns. Volunteer donors are the Sly source of blood to meet’ these needs.
