The truck was recently replaced by a heavier GMC dump truck, according to roadmaster Doug Ide. Other bidders were Dean Kreidler, $2,020; Dallas Nursery, $3,875; Greg Zimmerman, $3,500 and L. M. Getz, $1,009. Zoning officer Charles Bartlett reported he issued three permits and collected $556 in fees during the past month. He issued a tem- porary permit for a charitable event to the Wyoming Valley Strid- ers for a race and building per- mits to Alan Major of Market St. for a 24 x 46 pole storage building and to Tim Weaver of Hoover Road for a new two-bedroom home. He denied a permit to Hale James Bronson, who wanted to erect a building on a lot which is too small. Bartlett issued zoning violation notices to Daniel Major of Jack- son Road, who is operating a lawn and garden equipment repair and retail business in a residential district and to Michael Katrainak of Shickshinny for a property lo- cated at 100 Lakeside Drive, Lake Silkworth. Violations include con- struction of an accessory struc- ture without a permit and erect- ing two storage buildings in a district where only one is allowed. Katrainak has also built stone- work and stone steps on the town- ship right-of-way in front of his home, according to supervisor David Sutton. “They're a hazard. We could accidentally run into them with a snowplow or other equipment,” Ide said.
