Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Dr. Clifford B. and Alice McKinley Jones. Previously he resided on Norton Avenue, Dallas for 22 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I and was a member of the Society of Friends, the School Lane Meeting, Germantown. - He graduated from the William Penn Charter School, Philadel- phia and Wesleyan University where he received his bachelor’s degree in 1939. He graduated from Wharton Graduate School of Business at . the University of Pennsylvania where he obtained his masters of business administration. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1949. He was a member of the Ameri- can Bar Association, Philadelphia County Bar, Luzerne County Law & Library Association; the Will- iam Draper Lewis Law Club; the Daddow Isaacs American Legion Post 672, Dallas. He was founder and on the board of directors of the Wyoming Valley Alcohol and Drug Services Inc. ~ He was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip; granddaugh- ter, Alison Baker. PRESTON SWAN Preston S. “Pep” Swan, 82, of 42nd Street, Idetown, Lehman Township, died Feb. 12, 1996 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Luzerne, he was the son of the late Oscar and Edythe Belles Swan. He attended Forty Fort schools and lived in Idetown for the past 50 years. Before retiring, he was em- ployed as an electrician by the International Brotherhood of Elec- trical Workers Local 81 of Scranton. Previously, he worked as a coal miner in the Delaware and Loree mines. He was a member of the Noxen Independent Bible Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth, George and Arnold; sisters, Dorothy Lincoln, and June Fiske. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, the former Helen Spencer; a son, Kenneth D., Idetown; brother, Earl of Loyalville; sister Edythe Bonning of Chase, Jack- son Township; two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 672 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Thomas MacAvoy, his pastor, officiating.
