Trucksville UMC appoints new choir director The Trucksville United Meth- odist Church has announced the appointment of Karen Benny as director of the Children’s Choir. A native of Hometown, Miss Benny paticipated in the music program at Tamaqua High School and was chosen to be a member of the District Chorus. She has been a member of several choirs and is'a voice student of Ellen Rutkowski. Miss Benny worked with young children as a swimming instruc- tor and lifeguard. She is a junior at College Misericordia, where she is a student in the baccalaureate degree nursing program. The Children’s Choir rehearses each Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Church Sanctuary. Children five years old through fifth grade are welcome to join this choir. The Choir is rehearsing Christmas music in preparation for their participation in the 11 a.m. serv- ice on December24. Parents in- terested in having their children join the choir should contact the church office.
